Dr. Jason N. Hurley
Dr. Hurley and staff provide the latest in eye care technology and new state of the art computerized equipment. Dr. Hurley specializes in adult and pediatric eye care and difficult contact lens fittings; including gas-permeable, toric and bifocal contacts. Laser refractive consultations are included with every comprehensive eye exam upon request.
Dr. Hurley graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg Idaho and went on to Ricks College. He received an Associate of Science Degree from Ricks College in 1998. He then received a Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University in 2000. Dr. Hurley and his family then moved to Oregon where he graduated with a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) from Pacific University. He received hands-on training from the Eye Institute of Utah, Salt Lake Veterans Hospital, and contact lens training at the Moran Eye Center. Dr. Hurley is a current member of the Idaho Optometric Physicians Association and American Optometry Association.
Dr. Hurley is an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will do all that he can to serve his patients and community, When asked what he likes most about being an optometrist, he will tell you that it’s being able to see his patients and their families year after year and knowing that they trust him as their primary eye care provider.
Dr. Hurley is married and has three beautiful daughters and one decent looking son-in-law. He is looking forward to grandchildren in the near future. He loves spending time with his family, going boating, and riding his Rzr .
Dr. Nicholas Blight
Dr. Blight joined the EyeCare of Rigby team in 2018. He provides comprehensive eyecare for patients of all ages.
Dr. Blight was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho and graduated from Snake River High School. He attended college at Brigham Young University-Idaho where he studied studio art with a minor in health profession studies. After graduation he completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove Oregon.
During his clinical rotations, Dr. Blight gained experience in a wide variety of practice modes. At the Veteran’s Affairs hospital in Spokane, Washington he gained skills and knowledge in diagnosis and management of ocular disease including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and many other conditions.
Following his time at the VA, Dr. Blight completed an externship dedicated to vision therapy and rehabilitation. He worked with a wide range of patients, including children dealing with teaming, tracking and focusing vision problems; as well as patients suffering from post-concussive syndrome due to a traumatic brain injury. He then went on to spend a focused rotation on contact lens fitting and evaluation. He learned much about diagnosis and treatment of irregular cornea and therapeutic specialty contact lenses.
Finally, Dr. Blight finished his clinical rotation experience at an Indian Health Clinic in Oklahoma, focused on primary eye care, with an emphasis in ocular disease. Having gained important skills, and grown as an eye care professional, Dr. Blight is excited to come home to Blackfoot and is prepared to serve his hometown community and provide the highest quality eye care.
Dr. Blight and his wife, Chelsie, have two beautiful and energetic children that keep them both busy. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors involved in a variety of activities ranging from landscape painting, hiking, camping and exploring new locations and activities.
